Plovdiv - Acient and Eternal

Plovdiv is one of the oldest cities in Europe, a contemporary of Troy and Mycenae, with an uninterrupted history of over 8 millennia. The city impresses tourists with its harmonious blend of ancient ruins and architectural heritage, and became European Capital of Culture in 2019.

One of its attractions is the Ancient Theater of Philippopolis. Built in the 2nd century AD, it is the best-preserved ancient theater building in Bulgaria, and still hosts concerts and performances today.
The old town of Plovdiv is an architectural reserve featuring beautiful Renaissance houses such as the Balabanov House and the Hindliyan House, as well as cobblestone streets, churches and museums. The Main Street of Plovidv is one of the longest pedestrian zones in Europe, beneath which lies the impressive Ancient Stadium of Philippopolis, dating back to the 2nd century AD.
Additionally, one of the city's hills, named Nebet Tepet offers an incredible panoramic view and opportunity to walk among fortress walls and prehistoric remains.
Other atractions that should not be missed include the Episcopal Basilica of Philippopolis, Kapana, the Roman Stadium and the Roman aqueduct. Visitors of Plovdiv can also enjoy numerous churches, museums and galleries. Cultural events such as the Antique Festival, various musical events, Crafts Week, the New Wine Festival, the International Fair further enhance the city’s atmosphere. Koprivshtitsa - Architectural and Historical Reserve

Koprivshtitsa is located in the Sredna Gora Mountains and is the only museum town in Bulgaria. In 1978 it was recognized as a national architectural reserve of importance and as a destination for international tourism. The architecture of Koprivshtitsa is unique in Bulgaria, as it preserves the authentic Bulgarian Renaissance style from the period before Ottoman rule.

The town is home to 388 historical, architectural, artistic and ethnographic monuments. Among its museums and landmarks are the Oslekov House, Lyutov House, the Todor Kableshkov House Museum, the Dimcho Debelyanov Museum, the Georgi Benkovski Museum, and the Lyuben Karavelov Museum. The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is particularly notable for the woodcarving on the bishop's throne and pulpit, as well as the authentic icons.
In addition to the historic houses and beautiful natural surroundigs, visitors can admire more then forty fountains built during different periods of the town's history.
Koprivshtitsa also offers numerous hotels and guesthouses that preserved an authentic atmosphere, along with a wide variety of restaurants serving traditional Bulgarian dishes prepared according to local recipes.

Veliko Tarnovo - City of Tsars

Veliko Tarnovo, also known as the "City of the Tsars" is the ancient capital of Bulgaria, and impresses visitors with its unique beauty. The city is situated on the historical hills of Tsarevets, Trapezitsa and Sveta Gora, at the foot of the Balkan Mountains in Central Bulgaria.

Throught the city's centuries-old history, numerous cultural monuments related to the rich heritage of the Bulgarian people have been preserved. The authentic architecture of many houses, together with remains of fortresses, palaces, and churches from the golden age of Bulgarian culture during the 12th to 14th centuries, continue to attract tourists from around the world. One of the city's most remarkable landmarks is the Tsarevets fortress, which served as the residence of the Bulgarian rulers during the period when it was the capital of Bulgaria. Within the fortress, visitors can explore the remains of the palace, the Patriarchal Cathedral and Baldwin's Tower.
The cultural heritage of Veliko Tarnovo also includes museums and galleries with fascinating exhibitions and expositions, such as the Museum of Revival and Constituent Assembly, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary History and the Archaeological Museum Veliko Tarnovo. In addition, the beautiful nature of Veliko Tarnovo surroundings provide excellent opportunities for sport activities and walks along eco-paths.
